Why can't I apply a tag to some of the messages in inbox?

Sometimes when you're in the inbox and trying to apply a tag to your conversations, you'll notice that the tag button is grayed out or it's not shown on the right side of the conversation box.

The tagging feature in your inbox can appear grayed out or inactive for two primary reasons:

The person you're trying to tag is not in your first-degree connections. In other words, you are not directly connected to them on the platform.

It's possible that the person you're trying to tag is a new connection, and their information hasn't been fully synchronized or integrated into the system.

To resolve this issue, we recommend syncing your connections manually. This action will attempt to update and synchronize your connections and their information with the platform's database.

After syncing, if you still find that you cannot tag the individual, it likely means that they are not part of your first-degree connections, meaning you are not directly connected with them on the platform.
